Women's Soccer Drops Hard-Fought Match To Quinnipiac, 1-0

Broncs fall 1-0 at home

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ The Rider University women's soccer team battled hard but ultimately fell to reigning MAAC Champion Quinnipiac, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon. With the loss Rider moves to 3-6-1 and 1-2-0 in conference and Quinnipiac advances to 5-3-0 and 3-0-0 in the MAAC.

Through the first half both sides were even playing to a draw and having identical numbers through the first 45', as shots and saves were identical for both sides.

However, early in the second half the Bobcats were able to strike as Courtney Chochol found the back of the net on a cross from Evelyn Keay in the match's 46th minute. After scoring the games first and only goal, the Bobcats were able to hold possession for a majority of the second half, limiting Rider to only one shot in the second half.

QUOTES & NOTES
"I'm proud of the effort and the performance first half the game was close and I think we probably had the better of it in my opinion and when we were sustaining that pressure we just couldn't find things behind the goalkeeper and we knew that start of the second half we were going to face some pressure and it was in that first 15 minutes that they got throngs past our goalie and we just couldn't find a way to get it back." – Rider Head Coach Drayson Hounsome
