LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference today announced its league schedule for the 2023-24 season. The schedule features a full round-robin 20-game schedule in which all teams are set to complete home-and-home series against the league's other 10 teams. The Broncs' league schedule features two games in December, with the remaining games to take place after the calendar turns to 2024. The majority of this year's schedule will be contested on Friday's and Sunday's, with a handful of games shifting to a Thursday/Saturday format.

Siena

The Broncs erased a double-digit second-half deficit in their win.

Quickly: Rider and Mount St. Mary's met for the first time since 1997 when the Mountaineers joined the MAAC last season. A former Northeast Conference foe, the Mountaineers played the Broncs 13 times in Rider's five seasons in the NEC, including nine times over their last three seasons in the conference from 1994-95 through 1996-97. In those last three years, the Broncs and Mountaineers met in the 1995 NEC Championship Game, as well as the 1996 Semifinals and the 1997 Quarterfinals. Rider came away with wins in the quarterfinal and semifinal games, with Mount St. Mary's snapping Rider's string of two-straight NEC Championships in 1995. In renewing the series, each team won on the road last year to take a split.
Iona

Quickly: Rider snapped the Gaels' 21-game home winning streak last Jan. 15 and will stand as the only team to defeat a Rick Pitino-led Iona team in front of fans at the Hynes Center. The only other teams to earn wins over Pitino's Gaels in New Rochelle were Morgan State and Manhattan in 2020-21, when fans weren't allowed into the building due to COVID-19. Iona earned a split in the season series last year with an 80-78 win in the regular-season finale, with the teams solidified as the Nos. 1 (Iona) and 2 (Rider) seeds prior to tipoff. Iona will play under Tobin Anderson, who coached 16
th-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson to a pair of NCAA Tournament victories last season, including an upset of top-seeded Purdue. The Gaels' roster has been almost entirely flipped following the coaching change, with only Osborn Shema returning from the Gaels' MAAC Championship-winning team of a year ago.
