LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ- LIU's Matiana Valdez scored the contest's lone goal on a second chance shot off a corner in the 12th minute as the Sharks defeated the Rider University women's soccer team, 1-0, Sunday night on Ben Cohen Field. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-1-0, while the Sharks move to 2-0-0
The match's lone goal was score early in the evening as the Sharks set up on a corner taken by Matilda Boyle. Boyle crossed over towards LIU forward Noa Bartels van Bosbeek who forced a shot towards goal which was put in off the redirect from Valdez to put the Sharks up in the first half.
The Broncs did not go down without a fight however putting together 7 shots in the second half of the match however were not able to find the equalizer in the contest.
