PHILADELPHIA, PA – Ellie Sciancalepore (Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS) recorded her 12th career shutout as the Rider University Women's Soccer Team played to a scoreless draw for the fourth consecutive meeting. With the tie the Broncs move to 1-1-1 on the season and Temple is now 0-2-1 on the year.
The Broncs and Owls traded chances in the first half but both defenses were stout. The Broncs created a few chances in the first 45 highlighted by Chloe Fisher's (Warrington, England/Cronton Sixth Form College) try in the 23rd minute that was stopped by Temple Goalkeeper Tasmin Bynoe.
Rider would again see a Fisher opportunity get blocked by Bynoe early in the second half. Courtney Carter (Phoenix, NY/Phoenix) then had one of the biggest chances of the night but Bynoe made another impressive stop keeping the contest scoreless. The Broncs scattered five shots in the second half but Temple would be the aggressor, outshooting Rider 8-5 in the final 45.
Sciancalepore made three saves in the second half all coming in crucial points of the match including a huge save in the 83rd minute shutting the door on Temple's Jessica Carrieri.
