LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ Rider University women's outdoor track & field student-athletes
Teagan Schein-Becker (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley) and
Samantha Kamara (Parlin, NJ/Sayreville) earned MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Performers of the Week. Schein-Becker took the Track Performer of the Week honor, while Kamara was named Field Performer of the Week.
Schein-Becker is coming off a historic weekend for the Broncs being a part of two new Rider records at the Penn Relays. Schein-Becker would join Oliva de la Torre Coca, Lydia Wallace, and Raihana Yameogo to finish 2nd in the College Women's 4x800 running an 8:48.92 to set a new Rider record. The team would break the previous best of 8:49.99 set by Wallace, de la Torre Coca, Schein-Becker, and Mackenzie Greenfield at last year's Penn Relays. The next Rider record broken on the weekend was in the DMR as the team of
Jordan O'Neill,
Hailey Palmer, de la Torre Coca, and Schein-Becker would break the Rider record on Day 1 of the Penn Relays with a time of 11:29.54.
Kamara would have a solid outing traveling down Route 206 competing at the TCNJ Lion Invite. Kamara would finish third overall at TCNJ with a mark of 47.87m. The honor for Kamara is her first of the outdoor season and second of the year picking up her first following her winning outing at the Wagner Seahawk Invitational in January.
The Broncs will be back in action this weekend as they turn their heads to the 2023 MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Emmitsburg, MD.
