LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ- Jerome Boyer and
Marques Merriweather shined with a pair of first-place finishes each as Rider Men's Track and Field opened their season at home with the Rider 5 Way. Rider would go on to win the overall team scoring with 373 overall points
Boyer put together two stellar outings in the 100m and 200m picking up gold in each event. Boyer started the day off by running a new PR of 10.88 in the 100m. The new personal best breaks his previous best of 11.03 which he set at the Towson Invitational a season ago. Boyer would back that up by finishing first in the 200m with a time of 22.13.
Merriweather would also finish first in a pair of events taking home the crown in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles. Merriweather would run a 14.70 and a 56.75 in the 100H and 400H respectively.Â
Rider would then get a great showing in the field by way of Zach Manorowitz (7.55m) and Isiah McClain (6.95m) taking first and second over and a new PR for Brandon Williams hitting a 6.86m mark to take fourth in the long jump.
Also in the field, Jake Eddinger would start his outdoor season on a high note hitting a new PR of 30.99 in the Javelin.Â
In the relays, Rider's 4x100m team of Boyer, Braeden Haines, Gabriel Maya, and Artie Burgess would break into the all-time top five at Rider with a 41.31 finish.
