Men's Track and Field Wins 2023 MAAC Indoor Championship

Rider claims second MAAC Indoor title in program history

NEW YORK, NY For the first time since 2017 the Rider Broncs Men's Track and Field team has won the MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Rider finished the weekend with 207 points overall and four MAAC champions: Jerome Boyer, Tamrat Snyder, Jayden DuBard, and Zach Manorowitz all finished first in their respective events.

Senior captain Jerome Boyer set out to win a MAAC championship and delivered on that promise. Boyer would round out his MAAC Indoor career with a gold medal finish in the 400m with a time of 48.47. Boyer was also on the 4x400m relay team with James Green, Artie Burgess, and Braeden Haines, which took second at The Armory.

Tamrat Snyder continued his great season in the 800m adding an Indoor 800m crown to his collection. Snyder, who won the 800m in the 2022 outdoor season, captured his first MAAC indoor 800m crown after running a 1:49.71 in the finals.

In the field, DuBard won the shot put with a new PR mark of 16.37m. Yesterday, DuBard had a strong showing for the Broncs as he had a bronze medal finish in the weight throw. Abraham Ohiokhai-Benson also showed out in the shot put with a 3rd place finish after his new PR of 14.48m breaking his previous best of 14.11m set at the Spartan Invitational.

Manorowitz was impressive for the Broncs on day one getting back to his usual ways with a gold medal finish in the long jump. Manorowitz won the long jump at both of last year's MAAC Championships and now adds a third-straight MAAC title for the Pennsville native.

QUOTES AND NOTES
"It is a great day to be a Bronc! The men were outstanding this weekend. We were very good in all event areas and that made a huge difference in the end result today. We got off to a great start yesterday and the men just kept up the pressure today. It was very impressive. I am really proud of their efforts. They have put a lot of time and effort into this day and it is very exciting to get this win."

"Our top athletes from this season really stepped up and delivered today. Burgess was great in the 60 and the 200. Boyer getting the win in the 400 and finishing 3rd in the 200. I am really excited for him because he has worked so hard to win an individual championship. DuBard got a big win in the shot and Tam got the win in the 800.

We also had some guys step up with Haines in the 200 and the 400 and Kriesman in the pole vault. "- Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer
