LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's basketball team was defeated by Monmouth, 62-42, Saturday afternoon in Alumni Gym. The Broncs fall to 2-5 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 3-4.

The Hawks came out of the gate strong, building an 8-0 lead that was later extended to 13-2 and 19-4. Taylor Langan (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Jefferson Township[Colgate/Millersville]) finished the opening quarter with four points, but the Broncs trailed 19-6.

Quotes & Notes
"Obviously disappointed to lose on our home floor today. I think it was just a simple case of our offense and defense being on two separate pages. Defensively we started out a little slow, but I thought we put it together. Offensively, we need to stay in what we want to run, and we just didn't do a good job of that today. A lot of our threes tonight were rushed. There were a handful of them at the end of the shot clock."– Head coach Lynn Milligan

"We didn't shoot well, That takes a little bit of a learning experience. We talked as a team, our threes aren't going in, next option is to get the ball in the paint or we got to get to the free throw line." – Graduate Guard Taylor Langan

"I really like coming off the bench to watch the game and you see how the feel is, and when I come in and bring that extra energy and that spark. Coach Milligan has talked about me being a rebounding guard for a long time and I pride myself in getting o boards." – Junior Guard Jamia Blake

- Monmouth extends its lead in the all-time series to 31-24.
- Langan led the Broncs with 14 points, reaching double-figures for the sixth-straight game.
