What You Need To Know
- Rider continues its first road trip of the year Monday, when it takes on Nebraska in Lincoln on the Big Ten Network.
- The game is the Broncs' first in a series of Cornhusker Classic Games. Rider also travels to Duquesne (Nov. 17) and Stony Brook (Nov. 20) as part of the MTE.
- Rider opened the year with a 113-67 win over Division I Immaculata on Nov. 6 before falling at nationally-ranked No. 5 Marquette, 95-65, on Friday.

Mervin James had a team-high 15 points, while
T.J. Weeks Jr. posted a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds at Marquette.
- The Cornhuskers have been led this season by Rienk Mast, a 6-10 Bradley transfer who's averaged 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in Nebraska's first two games. Brice Williams has also averaged in double figures at 14.0 points per game, while C.J. Wilcher (9.5 ppg.), Sam Hoiberg (9.0 ppg., 2.5 spg.), Eli Rice (9.0 ppg.) and Josiah Allick (8.0 ppg., 6.5 rpg.) have also made strong contributions.
- The Broncs were picked as the MAAC Preseason Favorite by the league's coaches.
Mervin James was also named MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, while
Allen Powell joined James on the Preseason All-MAAC First Team.
- James averaged 12.9 points and 6.8 rebounds last season, shooting 48.2 percent from the floor and 82.5 percent from the free-throw line. He posted a team-high five double-doubles, while scoring in double figures a team-high 24 times in starting all 30 games.
- Powell averaged 10.4 points, 2.1 assists, 1.5 three-point field goals made and 0.9 steals in 33.7 minutes per game last year. He scored in double figures 16 times and opens the 2023-24 season 68 points away from becoming Rider's 42nd 1,000-point scorer.
- Rider returns a third starter in
Tariq Ingraham, who averaged 6.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 30 games played last season.
