NEW ROCHELLE, NY- Rider University Women's Soccer snuck out of New Rochelle with a point in MAAC play as
Ava Ferrie (Branford, CT/Branford) struck in the final 90 seconds to tie the match as the Broncs and Gaels played to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday afternoon. With the draw, Rider moves to 5-6-2 and 3-3-1 in MAAC play, and Iona moves to 1-12-2 and 0-4-2 in conference.
Rider and Iona played an evenly-matched first half where both teams finished with four shots on goal. However, both keepers were stellar, making all four saves needed to keep things scoreless after the first 45 minutes.
Iona's lone goal came in the 76th minute as graduate forward Samantha Hogan drew a foul inside the box and junior midfielder Emily Drake's PK got past Rider keeper
Ellie Sciancalepore (Randolph, NJ/ Randolph) to give the lead to the Gaels.
The Broncs would fight to the final whistle as, in the final two minutes, Iona scattered a few shots towards goal, but missed on back-to-back tries. Sciancalepore would then lift a ball to
Chloe Fisher (Warrington, England Cronton Sixth Form College) on a goal kick who found Ferrie as the freshman would find the back of the net for her second goal of the year, tying the match at one all in the final 90 seconds of the contest

QUOTES & NOTES
- "Overall it was a disappointing performance. We were 2nd to too many loose balls and our movement to create space was way too slow. We struggled in every aspect. The new MAAC schedule had us playing 4 games in last the 11 days after 4 games in a month which is a huge spike in workload. We looked desperately tired and need the week off to recover, which we will do and be ready to go in a week's time against Canisius"
Rider Head Coach Drayson Hounsome
