What You Need To Know
- Rider wraps up a weekend homestand Sunday afternoon vs. Manhattan.
- January is Youth Month at Alumni Gym. Fans 12 and under can purchase $5 general admission tickets in-person at the Ticket Office on game days throughout the month.
- Rider will celebrate university mascot, AJ The Bronc, with some of his local friends. Mascots will be in attendance and pass out candy throughout the first half.
- A local girl scouts troop will be selling cookies in the Alumni Gym lobby.
- Liberty X Coke, Rider's official beverage partner, will be on-site sampling drinks from the product line.
- The Broncs dramatically snapped a three-game losing skid Jan. 15 at Preseason MAAC favorite Iona, erasing an 18-point second-half deficit in winning on Dwight Murray, Jr.'s three-pointer with 3.8 seconds remaining. Rider then trailed by 11 early in the second half against Niagara on Jan. 20, before going on a 14-1 run to retake the lead and scoring the final six points of the game to win.
- Rider has now won 34 games under 11th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett when trailing in the game by double digits. The 18-point deficit at Iona represented the second-largest overcome in a victory under Baggett (Feb. 10, 2018 at Marist - 21).
- Murray had scored at least 17 points in each of the first 10 games prior to three-straight off games of eight points or fewer. He's since picked up three-straight of 19 or more points. For the year, he's averaging 17.1 ppg., shooting 37.8 percent from deep. Murray's 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game are best on the team and his 4.6 rebounds are third.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Manhattan, 35-26. The two teams split the regular-season series last year, before Rider won in the MAAC Tournament Opening Round. The Broncs are 14-8 against Manhattan under Head Coach Kevin Baggett, winning the last seven meetings with the Jaspers at Alumni Gym.
- Manhattan features five scorers averaging in double figures, led by Samir Stewart and Ant Nelson at 15.2 points per game apiece. Nelson has also led the Jaspers at 4.1 assists per contest. Josh Roberts has added 11.9 points and a MAAC-leading 9.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.
- The Broncs were picked third in the MAAC Preseason Poll.
- 11th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 169-161 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider.
