LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team defeated Lafayette 164.5-122.5 Saturday afternoon. The Broncs evened their record at 3-3.
The Bronc men won 12 events in the meet.
Rider started the day with a win in the 200-medley relay.
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross),
David Cooper (Spring, TX/Klein Oak),
Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy), and
Jack Ruggieri (Bellmawr, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) combined to touch the wall at 1:32.69.
Kyle Iorizzo (Norwood, NJ/Old Tappan Regional) and
Derek Fantano finished one-two in the 1,000-free with a time of 10:03.32 and 10:10.42.
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa) followed with a win in the 200-free with a time of 1:44.64. He would also take the 500-free with a time of 4:44.56.
David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway Regional) won the 100-back with a time of 51.38.
The Broncs then earned a sweep in the 100-breast. Cooper led the way with a pool-record 55.89.
Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley) was second in 59.24 and
Andrew Iannacone (Yardley, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) was third in 1:00.16. Cooper also won the 200-breast with a time of 2:10.17.
Bobby Irwin (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) won the 200-fly in 1:54.87.
Racevicius won the 50-free in 20.97 and the 200-back in 1:51.91.
Lane was victorious in the 100-fly with a time of 50.97.
In the diving well,
Sean Binning (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) won the 3-meter with a score of 299.70, followed by
Marcas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross), who scored 254.85 for second.
