What You Need To Know
- Rider travels to MAAC Preseason favorite Iona Sunday afternoon on ESPN3.
- The Broncs look to get back in the winning column, having lost three-straight to Niagara, Quinnipiac and Siena to begin the month. 
- Dwight Murray, Jr. became the 41st Rider player to score 1,000 points a a Bronc with 20 points on Jan. 8 at Siena. He also surpassed 1,500 career points, including his time at Incarnate Word, moments later against the Saints.
- Murray had scored at least 17 points in each of the first 10 games prior to three-straight off games of eight points or fewer. For the year, he's averaging 16.6 ppg., shooting 38.5 percent from deep. Murray's 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game are best on the team and his 4.6 rebounds are third.
- Tariq Ingraham added 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting, while Mervin James had nine points and a career-high 15 rebounds at Siena.
- The Gaels lead the all-time series, 45-27. The Broncs snapped a decade-long MAAC Quarterfinal drought and an eight-game losing skid to Iona in last year's MAAC Championships, defeating the top-seeded Gaels, 71-70, after losing both games in the regular season to Iona.
- Daniss Jenkins leads Iona at 16.4 points and 4.8 assists per game, while Walter Clayton, Jr. has added 16.1 points and a team-high 1.5 steals per game. Nelly Junior Joseph has added 15.5 ppg. and a team-leading 8.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
- The Broncs were picked third in the MAAC Preseason Poll.
- 11th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 167-161 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider.
