LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's basketball team will embark on a week-long goodwill tour of several Belgian cities, Amsterdam and Paris from Aug. 18-26. Following their trans-Atlantic flight, the Broncs will spend the first three days touring Mechelen, Brussels and Antwerp, Belgium, before a day trip to Paris. Tours of the Belgian cities of Bruges and Ostend follow, before capping the trip with a visit to Amsterdam.
"This trip is a home run for our program," said Rider Head Coach
Kevin Baggett. "To be able to give our student-athletes the cultural experience that a trip like this offers, along with a chance for our newcomers to jell and bond with our returners on the court against top competition is invaluable."
The Broncs will play three games on the trip, taking on Belgian Top-Division I squad Oxaco on Aug. 21, Top-Division II club Oostkamp on Aug. 23 and Ostend on Aug. 24.
