LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Rider University women's tennis team fell 6-1, against the Siena Saints Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 3-4, 0-2 MAAC, while the Saints improve to 8-10 (3-0 MAAC).
The Saints took the first point after winning two matches in the doubles before winning the third by default.
The Broncs worked hard in the singles, but
Agnese Ceccarelli would come away with the only Broncs victory on the day as Siena pulled away with the 6-1 victory due to a default win in the 6
th singles match.
"Always tough being short handed," said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. "Not having your full line up doesn't play well when you play a team as talented as Siena. We fought hard and made a really good match out of it. Effort and intensity definitely stepped up. They are pretty excited to move on from this and get to Niagara Saturday."
The Broncs return to action Saturday, April 9
th when they take the long haul to play against the Niagara Purple Eagles in Niagara University, NY. Matches are set to begin at 11 a.m.
