WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The Rider University women's tennis team fell 5-2, against the Niagara Purple Eagles, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 3-5, 0-2 MAAC, while the Purple Eagles improve to 6-13, 2-3 MAAC.
The Purple Eagles took the first point after winning three matches in the doubles.
Capucine Thuilot and
Ally Garofoli won their singles matches but the team would come up short, with Niagara claiming the 5-2 victory.
"Tough day today but we really competed well. Every match was competitive and the team was there for each other every step of the way," said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. As a program that is rebuilding that's all I can ask for."
The Broncs return to action Monday, April 11
th when they journey to Monmouth to face off in Long Branch, NJ. Matches are set to begin at 3 p.m.
