Women’s Track and Field Wraps up Triple State Spread

Records fall in different states

Ewing, NJ, Towson, MD and Williamsburg, PA– The Rider University Women's Track and Field Team split three ways, attending the TCNJ Invitational, the Towson Invitational, and the Colonial Relays hosted by William and Mary on Saturday.

At TCNJ, Nakia Watson took sixth in the long jump with her 4.93m mark. Ashley Cataneo took sixth in the javelin throw with her 28.25m mark. Grace Medei took tenth in the 1500m with her finish of 5:18.04. Noelle Scott took fourth in the 100m hurdles in 15.90. Morgan Jackson finished third in the 800m with her time of 2:24.86.

After Day Two at Towson, Genesis Walker, Mariah Stephens, Elise Legzdins and Hailey Palmer set the #2 Rider record and earned an ECAC qualification for their 47.48 time in the 4x100, good for a third place finish. Lydia Wallace finished third in the 800 after 2.18.52. Grace Ramsey took second in the javelin throw with a 43.16m mark, good to become the #2 Rider record.

After Day Two at Colonial, Oliva de la Torre Coca, Mackenzie Greenfield, Jordan O'Neill, Teagan Schein-Becker and Sarah Eskew took the win in the 4x1500 relay and set the new Rider record with their time of 18:45.57.

"The women ran outstanding to get the win. De la Torre Coca ran a great lead off leg to put us in the race. Greenfield and O'Neill ran really well in the middle. They ran solo in second place doing everything they could to keep us close to give Schein-Becker a chance. Teagan made up 80 meters and then kicked to the win. -Walker, Stephens, Legzdins and Palmer earned ECAC qualifications.  
-Walker, Stephens, Legzdins, Palmer, Ramsey, de la Torre Coca, Greenfield, O'Neill, Schein-Becker and Eskew set new Rider records.

The Broncs return to action on April 9th, when they travel to George Mason in Fairfax, VA for the Mason Spring Invitational.
