What You Need To Know
- Rider continues MAAC Championship play as the No. 9 seed with a quarterfinal contest against top-seeded Iona.
- All five Rider starters scored in double figures in a 79-67 First Round win over Manhattan Tuesday.
- Rider is 16-23 all-time in the MAAC Tournament. This is the first time the Broncs are the No. 9 seed. The Broncs are 5-16 in MAAC Quarterfinal games, with their last win coming in 2010-11.
- The Gaels lead the all-time series, 45-26, including wins in each of the last eight. The Broncs' last win over Iona came in a 110-101 affair Feb. 25, 2018, as Rider clinched a share of the 2018 MAAC Regular Season title and the top seed. The Broncs are 1-4 vs. Iona in the MAAC Tournament, including an 0-3 mark in the quarterfinals. The lone win came in the 2007 First Round.
- Tyson Jolly leads Iona at 14.5 points per game, while Nelly Junior Joseph has added 12.9 points and a team-leading 8.2 rebounds per game. Elijah Joiner (11.4 ppg.) also averages in double figures to go along with a team-high 3.4 assists per game. Quinn Slazinski (8.9 ppg.), Dylan Van Eyck (8.1 ppg.) and Walter Clayton, Jr. (7.1 ppg.) also provide scoring punch.

Allen Powell has stepped up over the last 14 games, averaging 15.4 points.

Dimencio Vaughn became Rider's all-time steals leader with five thefts against Saint Peter's on Jan. 16. His total now stands at 226 steals. He also moved into ninth in scoring (1,633) on Feb. 27 vs. Iona, while his 804 rebounds rank fifth. Already the only player in the top 15 in points, rebounds, blocks and steals, his 81st block on Feb. 13 put him in the top 10 in all four categories.

Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 160-151 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
