Box Score BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Rider University women's tennis team earned a 6-1 win against Bloomsburg Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Broncs improve to 2-3, while the Huskies fall  to 2-4.
First in the doubles,
Leila Koster and
Angelica Garcia won their match, 6-2, as did the pair of
Ally Garofoli and
Agnese Ceccarelli, 6-1.
The Broncs worked hard in the singles, earning the next five points to seal out the 6-1 victory thanks to the efforts of Koster,
Capucine Thuilot, Garofoli, Garcia, and Ceccarelli.
"Better intensity overall," said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. "We were very gritty in singles, given the cold and windy conditions. We just played smart tennis, hitting to big safe targets and waiting for opportunities. We limited the big mistakes during critical times, and that was basically the key today."
The Broncs return to action Tuesday when they travel to Queens, NY, to face off against the Knights of Queens College. Matches are set to begin at 11 a.m.
