What You Need To Know
- Rider welcomes Manhattan to Alumni Gym Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
- It is hometown heroes night at Alumni Gym. All first responders and frontline healthcare workers will receive free general admission tickets to the game courtesy of Capital Health. Please present a valid ID at the ticket booth to take advantage of the deal.
- The Broncs have won two in a row against Canisius and at Siena, marking their first consecutive MAAC wins in nearly two years, a span of 27 games.
- Allen Powell has stepped up as the Broncs have won three of their last four. He's averaged 18.0 points while shooting 53.5 percent from the floor, 42.1 percent from long range and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Manhattan, 33-25. The two teams split a weekend series in Riverdale last year, with the Broncs taking the first game, 82-64, before dropping the second, 87-77. Rider is 12-7 against Manhattan under Head Coach Kevin Baggett.
- Manhattan features the MAAC's leader in scoring and assists in Jose Perez at 19.0 points and 4.6 assists per game. Ant Nelson also averages in double figures at 10.3 ppg., while Warren Williams has chipped in at 8.5 ppg. Elijah Buchanan (8.2 ppg.), Josh Roberts (8.0 ppg., team-high 5.3 rebounds per game) and Samir Stewart (7.8 ppg.) have also made strong contributions.
 - Dimencio Vaughn became Rider's all-time steals leader with five thefts against Saint Peter's on Jan. 16. His total now stands at 202 steals. He also reached 700 rebounds at Rider on Jan. 23 at Niagara to move into 15th in program history and added his 1,500th career point to his resume Feb. 4 at Siena, becoming the 11th player in program history to achieve the feat. He's now the only player in the top 15 in school history in points (1,515-11th), rebounds (727-12th), blocks (78-12th) and steals (202-1st).
- The Broncs outshot Canisius, 51.9 percent (27-52) to 34.4 percent (21-61) on Jan. 30. Rider is 2-0 when shooting over 50 percent this season.
- 10th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 155-146 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider than Baggett.
