PISCATAWAY, NJ –
Shane Reitsma (Howell, NJ/Howell) earned the lone win of the night as the #15 Rutgers Scarlet Knights defeated Rider Wrestling, 36-3, Thursday night in the Jersey Mike's Arena. The Broncs fall to 2-6, while the Scarlet Knights improve to 13-4.
Rutgers came out ready to wrestle, taking the first handful of matches in a flurry of decisions and a pair of major decisions to put the Scarlet Knights up, 17-0, at the intermission.
The Broncs would pick up their only points of the dual at 174 as
Shane Reitsma earned a decision. Unfazed, the Scarlet Knights would continue their offensive, earning two tech falls and a fall to seal the match, 36-3.
