What You Need To Know
- Rider travels to Manhattan in search of a regular-season sweep Sunday.
- After winning four straight, the Broncs have dropped their last two by a combined three points, including a one-point overtime setback to Siena on Feb. 13 and a two-point loss at Monmouth on Feb. 18. The Broncs had three shots to win those two games at the end of regulation and overtime.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Manhattan, 34-25. The two teams split a weekend series in Riverdale last year, before the Broncs defeated the Jaspsers in Lawrenceville on Feb. 8. Rider is 13-7 against Manhattan under Head Coach Kevin Baggett, including a 5-5 mark at Draddy Gym.
- Manhattan features the MAAC's leader in scoring and assists in Jose Perez at 19.3 points and 4.6 assists per game. Ant Nelson also averages in double figures at 10.7 ppg., Josh Roberts (9.2 ppg., 6.3 rpg) has double-doubles in three of his last four games. Elijah Buchanan (8.1 ppg.), Warren Williams (7.8 ppg.) and Samir Stewart (7.8 ppg.) have also made strong contributions.
- Allen Powell has stepped up in the Broncs' recent run, averaging 15.1 points while shooting 43.8 percent from the floor, 34.2 percent from long range and 81.1 percent from the line.
 - Dimencio Vaughn became Rider's all-time steals leader with five thefts against Saint Peter's on Jan. 16. His total now stands at 211 steals. He also moved into 10th in scoring (1,556) on Feb. 11 at Saint Peter's, while his 765 rebounds rank ninth. Already the only player in the top 15 in points, rebounds, blocks and steals, his 81st block on Feb. 13 put him in the top 10 in all four categories.
- Rider held Saint Peter's without a field goal for a stretch of 12:32 in the second half to defeat the Peacocks. The only bucket the RU allowed over the final 12:42 of regulation was a lay-up with nine seconds remaining and the game in hand.
- 10th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 157-148 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider.
