LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ –
Tyler Klinsky and
Matt Correnti each earned hard-fought wins in Alumni Gym on Senior night as the Rider University Wrestling team triumphed over the Clarion University Golden Eagles, 16-15, Friday night in Alumni Gym. The Broncs improve to 3-8, 3-4 MAC while the Golden Eagles fall to 8-7, 4-5 MAC.
Klinsky kicked off the final home dual of the 2021-2022 season with a sudden victory in overtime at 125, 6-4.
Richie Koehler kept the pressure high, earning a victory at 133 with the help of a two point near-fall. Clarion fought back though at 149 and 157, earning two decisions to cut the Rider lead to only 3 heading into the intermission.
Michael Wilson came out ready to wrestle, earning his decision at 165 after a four point near-fall, 9-2. Clarion continued to fight back, earning a pair of decisions at 174 and 184 to knot the match, 12-12. Unwilling to let the Broncs fall,
Matt Correnti dominated at 197, earning multiple takedowns and combined riding time to earn a major decision, which proved to be the bout that decided the fate of Senior night to be a Bronc victory, 16-15.

- Rider continues to dominate in the all-time series against Clarion, which is now 18-4. The Broncs have won the last four meetings.

th, as they travel to George Mason for the last dual of the season. The final dual of the season is set to begin at 7 p.m.
