Men's Basketball Searches For Fourth-Straight Win Friday at Saint Peter's

Broncs look to continue hot streak, rise up MAAC standings

What You Need To Know
- Rider travels to Saint Peter's in search of its fourth-straight win Friday.
- The Broncs have won three-straight over Canisius, Siena and Manhattan and four of their last five, adding a win at Fairfield to begin the run on Jan. 23.
- Allen Powell has stepped up in the Broncs' recent run, averaging 17.0 points while shooting 47.3 percent from the floor and 88.9 percent from the line.
- The Broncs hold a 39-34 lead over Saint Peter's in the all-time series. The two teams split the regular-season series last year, before the Peacocks defeated Rider, 75-60, in the MAAC Quarterfinals. SPU took this year's first meeting in Lawrenceville, 58-51. Kevin Baggett's teams are 12-10 against Saint Peter's, including a 7-3 mark in Jersey City.
- Daryl Banks III leads Saint Peter's at 11.4 points per game, shooting 40.3 percent (31-77) from long range. He's also nearly automatic at the free-throw line, shooting 91.2 percent (52-57). Doug Edert (9.4 ppg.) shares a similar scorer's profile to Banks, shooting 46.0 percent from long range and 86.7 percent from the line. Preseason MAAC Player of the Year KC Ndefo averages 9.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and a league-high 2.5 blocks per game. Fousseyni Drame (7.6 ppg., 7.1 rpg.) is the Peacocks' top rebounder. SPU has won six straight at home.
 - Dimencio Vaughn became Rider's all-time steals leader with five thefts against Saint Peter's on Jan. 16. His total now stands at 204 steals. He also reached 700 rebounds at Rider on Jan. 23 at Niagara to move into 15th in program history and added his 1,500th career point to his resume Feb. 4 at Siena, becoming the 11th player in program history to achieve the feat. He's now the only player in the top 15 in school history in points (1,535-11th), rebounds (738-10th), blocks (78-12th) and steals (204-1st).
- 10th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 156-146 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider than Baggett.
