Broncs seek first win against the #14 Scarlet Knights since 2008

What You Need To Know
- The Rider University wrestling team travels to Piscataway to face off against #14 Rutgers.
- The Broncs are 2-5 overall.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Rutgers, 12-8, dating back to its inception in 1994-95. However, the Scarlet Knights have won the last seven duals, including a 25-6 victory before a sellout Alumni Gym crowd on  in Piscataway on Feb. 9, 2020. 
- Michael Wilson earned a come-from-behind victory in the last 13.3 seconds against Bloomsburg at 165.
- Tyler Klinsky secured a major decision at 125 against Bloomsburg.
- David Szuba (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) picked up two wins with a decision, 8-2 against Cleveland State and a major decision, 15-6 against Edinboro at 285.
- Tyler Klinsky earned a win by fall at 6:34 against Edinboro's Chris Merlo at 125.
- Quinn Kinner (Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway) also claimed a win by fall over Edinboro's Gabe Willochell in 1:34 at 141.
- Richie Koehler earned a major decision over Jake Manley from Cleveland State, 14-2.
- At the Southern Scuffle, the Broncs finished 17th of 28 teams after earning 30 points.  
- The Broncs finished 4th of 8 teams at the Keystone Classic after tying Drexel with 99 points.
George Walton (Franklin, NJ/Bound Brook) won his second-straight 184 title at the Keystone Classic.
- Richie KoehlerJake Silverstein (Hauppauge, NY/Smithtown [Nebraska]) and David Szuba (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) each made the semifinals at 133, 157 and 285 respectively earlier in the season at the Keystone Classic.
- Rider placed 4th at the Keystone Classic after accumulating 99 points.
- John Hangey returns for his fifth season as head coach and has accumulated a 39-19 record in his short time as head coach, including a win against The University of Minnesota, who were ranked #6 at the time.
- During an abbreviated 2020-2021 season, the Broncs went 4-1 overall, and 2-0 in the MAC before heading to MAC Championships and the NCAA Championships.
- Rider finished second in the MAC last year
- Intermat has named Quinn Kinner (Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway [Ohio State]) and Matt Correnti (Delran, NJ/Holy Cross [Rutgers]) to the All-MAC Second Team.
- Intermat ranks Quinn Kinner as #25 in 141 lbs.
- Wrestlestat also ranks the Broncs as #55 for dual meets and as #47 for tournaments.
- At the 2020-2021 NCAA Championships, the Broncs finished in 20th place, totaling 22.0 points.
