Jack McGeechan (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands Regional) scored his first collegiate goal and the Broncs' defense posted a clean sheet to defeat Canisius, 1-0, in Head Coach
Charlie Inverso's final game Wednesday afternoon on Ben Cohen Field. With the win, the Broncs close the season at 3-8-6 (2-3-5 MAAC), while the Golden Griffins concluded their season at 1-10-6 (0-7-3 MAAC).
Following a scoreless first half, the Broncs got on the board in the 66
th minute, as
Momo Diop (Thies, Senegal/Prive Serigne Touba) and
Babacar Diene (Thies, Senegal/CEM Ballabey) worked a give-and-go along the left sideline, before Diene crossed into the box to McGeechan, who finished on one touch with his left foot inside the far post. The Broncs controlled possession before and after the score, not allowing a shot on goal all game to come away with their third clean sheet of the year.

- Rider pushed its lead in the all-time series with Canisius to 16-10-2, including wins in five straight and a seven-game unbeaten streak (5-0-2) dating back through the 2016 season.
- Inverso announced his retirement yesterday and goes out with 96 of his 530 collegiate victories coming in his 12-year tenure at Rider. The first 434 wins came in his 24-year tenure at Mercer County Community College.
- Inverso's teams won three MAAC Championships (2015, 2016, 2018) and advanced to the MAAC Championship Game five times in a seven-year span.
- Inverso coached two All-Americans, 41 All-MAAC players and 117 MAAC All-Academic Team honorees in his first 11 years, with this year's honorees still to be announced this coming Monday.

Guillaume Veinante (Bayonne, France/Faculte des métier de Rennes) was not forced to make a save in his third shutout of the season. The clean sheet was also the third of his career.
