LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – The Rider University Volleyball Team fought hard, but fell in three sets to sixth-seeded Quinnipiac Friday in the MAAC Semifinals. The Broncs close out the season at 11-20. The Bobcats advance to the MAAC Championship match at 13-14.
The first set featured 14 ties, including the final of the set at 24-24, when the Bobcats scored the sets final two points to earn the 26-24 victory.
In the second, leading 10-9, Rider went on a 4-0 run during the serve of
Keegan O'Connor (Weatherford, TX/Weatherford). Down 20-15, Quinnipiac went on a 5-0 run to tie the set at 20-20. After ties at 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26, the Bobcats again earned the back-to-back points to close out the set.
Quinnipiac dominated the third set. Tied 3-3, the Bobcats went on an 8-0 run and never looked back, taking the deciding set 25-11.
