Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season at Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, CT – The Rider University Volleyball Team fell in straight sets Sunday afternoon to close out the regular season at Quinnipiac. The Broncs close out the regular season at 9-19 overall and 7-11 in MAAC play, while the Bobcats will enter the MAAC Tournament at 11-14 overall and 10-8 in league play.
 
Tied 9-9 in the first, the Bobcats went on a 3-0 run and never trailed again in the set, winning 25-20.
 
The Bobcats carried the momentum into the second set, jumping out to a 5-0 lead. The Broncs countered with a 3-0 run, but would not string together three points or more again in the set, falling 25-16.
 
Rider jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third on the serve of Jenna Amaro (Davie, FL/Archbishop McCarthy). Trailing 5-4, Quinnipiac went on a 9-0 run, and the Broncs could not recover. The Bobcats took the third set 25-17 and completed the three-set sweep.
