Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

League-Leading Quinnipiac Defeats Women's Soccer

Sciancalepore makes 12 saves for second-straight game

HAMDEN, CT – The Rider University women's soccer team fell on the road at league-leading Quinnipiac, 5-0, Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 5-6-2 (2-4-0 MAAC), while the Bobcats (10-1-1, 6-0-0 MAAC) remain unbeaten in league play.

Things started ominously as the Bobcats were awarded a penalty kick in the 17th minute. But Ellie Sciancalepore (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) guessed right and stopped the shot taken by MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Rebecca Cooke. However the Bobcats would keep the pressure on and score in the 23rd and 34th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Shortly after halftime in the 47th 50th minutes, the Quinnipiac lead swelled to 4-0. For good measure, the MAAC leaders added another insurance goal in the 74th minute.
