STATEN ISLAND, NY –
Mariah Stephens led the Broncs with two first-place finishes and a second place finish to lead the Rider University women's track and field team in the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartan Invitational Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Oliva de la Torre Coca, Nayta Glasco,
Allie Riches and
Savanna Marcantonio each added first-place finishes for the day.
Mariah Stephens finished second in the 60m Hurdles with a 8.95 time, while Rider claimed the top three spots in the 60m dash with Stephens finishing first in the 6in 7.85. Stephens also finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.23m.
Teagan Schein-Becker claimed first in the 3000m run with a time of 10:03.73, with
Mackenzie Greenfield finished in a close second.
Lydia Wallace finished first in the 800m run with a time of 2:20.64, while de la Torre Coca won the 1000m run in 2:55.17.
Elise Ledzdins finished third in the 200m dash with a time of 26.52.
Natya Glasco claimed first in the shot put with a mark of 13.96m, while
Chika Efobi claimed third. Glasco also took first place in the weight throw with a mark of 16.38m.
Karissa Watson finished second in the long jump after earning a mark of 5.28m.
Raisa Thunig finished third with a mark of 5.26m.
Allie Riches claimed first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.65m.
Savanna Marcantonio finished first in the high jump with a mark of 1.55m while
Khalin Hemingway finished second.

" We had a very good day today. We were much better as a team today then we have been all year. We showed great progress from last week with some ECAC qualifiers, wins, many personal bests, and a Rider record. We need to continue to build on this momentum.
de la Torre Coca was outstanding today, getting the win in the 1000 meters. She also broke the Rider record and qualified for the ECAC Championships. She is racing with a lot of confidence right now.
Riches had a very nice day winning the pole vault and hitting the ECAC mark. SHe was battling some injuries during the fall but she has quickly regained form and she is poised to clear some big bars very soon.
Glasco was outstanding again today winning both the shot and the weight throw. She hit the ECAC qualifying mark in the shot. She is having a great season and I am really excited to see her compete." -
