Women's Soccer Plays Temple to 1-1 Draw

Arrington scores, Sciancalepore makes career-high 11 saves

PHILADELPHIA – Nikki Arrington (Middleton, MA/Masconomet Regional) scored her first goal of the year, but the Rider University women's soccer team tied with Temple, 1-1, Saturday evening at the Temple Sports Complex. With the tie, the Broncs move to 1-2-1, while the Owls are now 0-2-3.

The first goal of the evening came when Ailis Martin (Mahopac, NY/ Mahopac) crossed to a streaking Arrington, who finished with a defender on her hip just a few feet in front of the goal line in the 32nd minute. The Owls would strike back with a goal in the 36th minute from Emily Kavanaugh to close out the first half up tied 1-1.

Following a scoreless second half and a scoreless first overtime, the Broncs generated multiple quality scoring opportunities in the second overtime. But neither team could find the back of the net and the game ended in a tie for the second meeting in a row.
