LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ –
Ellie Sciancalepore (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) posted 14 saves for the Broncs as the Rider University women's soccer team played Garden State rival Monmouth to a scoreless tie Wednesday evening on Ben Cohen Field. With the tie, the Broncs move to 2-5-2 (0-2-1 MAAC), while the Hawks move to 6-3-1 (2-0-1 MAAC).
The first half saw an aggressive Monmouth offense taking the edge in shots, 9-3, but Rider was able to solidify its defense to keep the half scoreless. It was more of the same in the second half, as Rider fended off a 13-4 edge in shots from Monmouth to keep the Hawks off the scoreboard. Throughout both overtimes, Rider was able to defend as a team and keep a clean sheet.

Ellie Sciancalepore (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) made a career-high 14 saves for the Broncs, besting her previous career high of 11 this past Sept. 4 at Temple.
