Box Score SCHENECTADY, NY – Ally Garofoli (Springboro, OH/Springboro) won the Flight D Singles Championship as the Rider University women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Siena Invitational Saturday.

Garofoli defeated St. Francis Brooklyn's Margherita Fiorio, 8-4, in the semifinals to reach the final against Seton Hall's Emily O'Donovan, whom she defeated in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (6-3).

"A great day for Rider tennis," said Rider Head Coach Tom Battaglia. "Everyone that advanced to the second day played with a lot of intensity and passion. Tough tiebreak losses from Leila (Koster) and Avery (Oppenheim), but Ally won an exciting tiebreak to win the D Flight Championship. Proud of the effort this weekend. This team wants to improve in all phases of the game. Exciting group to coach."
