Leila Koster and
Ally Garofoli (Springboro, OH/Springboro) both won their singles matches, but the Rider University women's tennis team fell at Loyola (Md.), 5-2, Monday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-3, while the Greyhounds improve to 5-2.
After the Greyhounds took all three doubles flights, Koster earned a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, win at No. 3 singles over Olivia Tracey. Garofoli got past Julia Thompson in straight sets at No. 6, 6-3, 6-4. But the Greyhounds would win the remaining four singles flights and the match.
Amanda Binder (Princeton, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro H.S. North) forced a third set at No 5, but fell to Abby Decker, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 10-4.
The Broncs return to action Friday, when they play host to La Salle at 2 p.m.
