LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's tennis team lost a 7-0 decision to Siena Friday. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 2-6 (0-5 MAAC), while the Saints are now 3-3 (1-2 MAAC).
The Saints swept all three doubles points. The closest the Broncs came to a victory was at No. 1, where
Angelica Garcia (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) and
Sarah Cheverie (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/National Sport School [Montana State]) were defeated by Meagan Brown and Kylie Mullaney, 6-3.
In singles, the Saints won all six flights in straight sets. Garcia was most competitive at No. 2, but fell to Mullaney, 7-5, 6-4.
Ally Garofoli (Springboro, OH/Springboro) fell at No. 4 to Maanya Viswanath, 6-2, 6-4. No other Bronc took more than four games in their matches.
The Broncs currently don't have another match scheduled. However, previously-postponed matches against Marist and Delaware State could be made up at dates still to be determined.
