Dwight Murray, Jr. Picked to NABC All-District 1 Second Team

Murray led Broncs in Points, Rebounds and Assists

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University junior guard Dwight Murray, Jr. (Austell, GA/Pebblebrook [Incarnate Word]) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 1 Second Team, the organization has announced. Murray led the Broncs in scoring, rebounding, assists, double-doubles, free-throw percentage and minutes per game this season.

Murray scored in double figures a team-high 19 times in 23 games this year, including eight games of 20 points or more. He posted a team-high three double-doubles, including a pair that also neared a triple-double with seven assists. He averaged 15.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, while shooting 85.9 percent (2nd-MAAC) from the free-throw line in 37.2 minutes per game.

Murray scored a career-high 25 points against MAAC Co-Regular Season Champion Siena on Jan. 15, before scoring 21 and 23 points against fellow MAAC Co-Regular Season Champion Monmouth on Mar. 4 and 5, respectively. He erupted onto the MAAC scene with a 20-point, 15-rebound, seven-assist performance in the Broncs' league-opening win at Manhattan on Dec. 11.
