Men's Basketball Falls to Saint Peter's in MAAC Quarterfinals, 75-60

Murray, Henderson lead Rider with 15 points apiece

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ Dwight Murray, Jr. (Austell, GA/Pebblebrook [Incarnate Word]) and Rodney Henderson, Jr. (Carson, CA/Avon Old Farms [CSUN]) scored 15 points apiece, but the 11th-seeded Rider University men's basketball team fell to third-seeded Saint Peter's, 75-60, Thursday evening at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. With the loss, the Broncs conclude their season at 6-17, while Saint Peter's improves to 14-10.

Both teams came out red hot in the first half, with Saint Peter's taking a 59.1 percent (13-22) to 57.7 percent (15-26) edge. However, Rider forced nine Saint Peter's turnovers and outscored the Peacocks off turnovers, 16-6, in the half and led by three at the break. All nine Broncs to see the court scored in the half, including Murray with nine to go along with five assists.

Saint Peter's scored eight of the first 10 points to begin the second half to establish its first lead of the game and later went on an 11-0 run that Rider couldn't overcome.

- Rider leads the all-time series with Saint Peter's, 39-33. The two teams split the regular-season series this year in Jersey City.
- The Broncs have met the Peacocks more than any other program in the MAAC Championships, with Saint Peter's taking a 6-3 advantage in nine meetings. Today's meeting was the sixth in the MAAC Quarterfinals, with Saint Peter's taking four wins.
- Rider is now 15-23 all-time at MAAC Championships and 5-16 in quarterfinal games.

- Murray led the Broncs with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. He made 6-of-11 attempts from the floor and played the full 40 minutes.
- Henderson hit 5-of-6 attempts from the floor, including 3-of-4 from long range.
- Dontrell McQuarter (Baton Rouge, LA/Believe Prep [Hinds C.C.]) and Tyrel Bladen (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) each added seven points.
- Saint Peter's outshot Rider, 63.6 percent (28-44) to 48.9 percent (22-45) from the floor, including a 50.0 percent (7-14) to 45.5 percent (5-11) margin from long range. The Peacocks also took a 92.3 percent (12-13) to 64.7 percent (11-17) advantage from the free-throw line.
