LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – A third-quarter surge helped the Rider University women's basketball team send senior
Daija Moses (Toronto, Ontario/Henry Street) out in style as the Broncs defeated visiting Niagara, 68-54, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action on Sunday.
The Broncs (6-17, 5-13 MAAC) outscored the Purple Eagles (2-4, 2-4 MAAC) 27-12 in the third frame and used a 13-0 run to turn a halftime deficit into a double-digit lead.
Playing in her final home contest inside Alumni Gymnasium, Moses put an exclamation point on the victory. On back-to-back possessions, Moses knocked down a pair of threes to stretch the Rider lead to 12 at 64-52 with 47 seconds left in regulation.
Moses was one of three Broncs in double figures as she finished with 10 points to go along with five rebounds, one steal and one block.
Maya Hyacienth (Nottingham, UK/City of London Academy) and
Makayla Firebaugh (Winchester, VA/James Wood) were the other Rider players in double figures with 17 and 13 points, respectively.
