Field Hockey Visits Fairfield and Hosts LIU This Weekend

What You Need To Know
- Friday's game will be broadcast live on Facebook Live with Sunday's game switching to ESPN3.
- The Broncs were picked to repeat as NEC Champions in the preseason poll of the league's coaches. Five of the eight coaches placed Rider first on their ballot. Fairfield finished second in the poll and received the remaining three first-place votes.
- Rider has won three straight, including a 2-1 victory over Lock Haven last time out. Julia Divorra (Terrasa, Spain/Vedruna Vall) scored her fifth game-winning goal of the season midway through the third quarter.
- Kaitlyn Tomas (Campbellville, Ontario/Appleby College) was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week after winning both games in goal for the Broncs. She allowed a single goal in both contests, while making seven saves. Divorra was named an NEC Prime Performer after scoring the game-winning goal in each contest.

- Brosious and Divorra are tied at 14th in the nation with .80 goals per game.
- Rider has been one of the best teams in the country at earning penalty corners, ranking 12th nationally with an average of 7.30 per game.
- Rider ranks sixth nationally with an .800 winning percentage.
- The Broncs lead the all-time series against Fairfield 17-9. The last six games have been decided by a single goal, including a 1-0 Rider win on Ben Cohen Field in April. The Broncs are 4-0 in the all-time series since LIU was created with the combining of LIU Brooklyn and CW Post. Rider defeated the Sharks 5-0 in the NEC Championship game during the spring.
- Fairfield sits at 5-6 overall. The Stags opened NEC play with a 1-0 win over LIU last weekend. LIU is 2-7 overall, with their lone NEC game the loss at Fairfield.
- Fairfield goalie Zoe Rosen ranks 14th in the country with a .778 save percentage and 17th nationally averaging 5.73 saves per game.
