NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY –The Rider University women's soccer team fell on the road at Niagara, 2-0, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 5-7-2 (3-4-1 MAAC), while the Purple Eagles improve to 11-3 (5-2 MAAC).
Niagara set the tempo of the game early on, with Florence Vaillancourt finishing a connection from Emma Davies and Djeynaba Thiam to take the lead in the second minute of the game.
In the second half, Niagara would continue to apply pressure, not letting Rider take more than one shot in the period. That pressure would eventually result in another goal. Davies scored off a Vaillancourt tap deep in the box to bump the Niagara lead to 2-0 and seal the victory for the Purple Eagles.
