What You Need To Know
- Rider continues league play this weekend, when it plays host to Marist.
- The Broncs are in search of their first home win of the season.
- Dwight Murray, Jr. has been an all-around bright spot so far this season, averaging 14.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 0.9 steals per game, including a near triple-double of 20 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and seven assists in a win at Manhattan on Dec. 11.
- Rider gave defending MAAC Champion Siena all it could handle in a pair of losses Jan. 15-16. The Broncs had the game tied late on Jan. 15 before the Saints went on a decisive 11-0 run. On Jan. 16, the Broncs had a look to tie or take the lead at the buzzer, but Murray's shot would not fall.
- Dontrell McQuarter compiled his first double-double as a Bronc with 17 points and 12 rebounds on Jan. 15 against Siena.
- Ajiri Ogemuno-Johnson posted his first-career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds on Jan. 9 at Niagara, a day after going for a career-high 19 points against the Purple Eagles.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Marist, 38-24, including eight-straight wins over the Red Foxes. The Broncs are 14-2 against Marist under Kevin Baggett.
- Ricardo Wright and Michael Cubbage lead the Red Foxes at 11.0 points per game, with Cubbage also grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game. Jordan Jones has added 9.9 points and a team-leading 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game, while Raheim Sullivan is right behind him in the scoring column (9.8 ppg.) and has dished out a team-best 3.4 assists per game.
- Ninth-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 144-126 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider than Baggett.
