Toussaint Records Her Second Career Double-Double For Women's Basketball in a Loss at Siena

Box Score LOUDONVILLE, NY – Freshman forward Raphaela Toussaint (Kingston, Ontario/Lincoln Prep) recorded her second career double-double thanks to a 14-point, 11-rebound performance, but it was not enough as the Rider University women's basketball fell on the road to Siena, 69-60, on Sunday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.
 
The Saints (2-2, 2-2 MAAC) pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Broncs (1-12, 0-8 MAAC) 38-30 over the final 20 minutes.  
 
After taking a one-point lead at 31-30 into halftime, Siena forced nine Rider turnovers and held the guests to 37 percent shooting (3-of-8) to stretch the lead to eight heading into the final quarter.
 
The Saint lead would swell to as many as 14 late in the fourth quarter. The Broncs battled to the final whistle in the hard-fought battle.
 
Senior Daija Moses (Toronto, Ontario/Henry Street) was the other Bronc in double figures as she tied a career-high with 15 points.

- Siena leads the all-time series with Rider, 35-16.  
- Siena scored a regular-season series sweep of the Broncs for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
- Rider scored 60 or more points for the second time this season and the second game in a row.
- The Broncs tied a season-high 14 assists. It was their fourth straight game with 11 or more assists.
 
BRONCS BY THE NUMBERS
- Daija Moses made a career-high six free-throw attempts in the win. She also chipped in six rebounds, one assist and one steal.
- Toussaint had her second double-double of the year. Her 14 points were a new career-best. She hit 6-of-10 shots from the field to go along with three assists, two steals and one block.
- Lenaejha Evans continued to provide a spark off the bench for Rider with eight points, four rebounds, two steals and a block.
- Amanda Mobley had six points and five assists for Rider.

Rider returns to Alumni Gymnasium for a weekend of home MAAC action against hOURglass rival Saint Peter's next Saturday and Sunday. Opening tip for both games is slated for 1:00 pm.
