NEWARK, DE – The Rider University baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Delaware at Bob Hannah Stadium on Sunday.

The Broncs (6-7) dropped the opener, 7-6, and the Blue Hens (7-7) secured the series sweep with an 8-6 win in game two.

GAME ONE
Delaware scored three runs in the home half of the sixth inning to turn a one-run deficit into a two-run advantage. In the top of the seventh, Rider pulled to within one as
Kyle Johnson (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) came around to score on an error.

With the tying run in scoring position, a Blue Hen reliever induced a game-ending groundout.

GAME TWO
In the finale, Rider plated a run in the top of the first as
Brendan O'Donnell () walked with the bases loaded. In the bottom half of the frame, Delaware plated five runs (only one of which was earned).

Trailing, 6-2, in the fifth, Rider tied the game at six with a four-run outburst. In the frame, both
Luke Lesch (Gloucester Township, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and
Jack Peterson (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) had RBI doubles.

Delaware took the lead back in the bottom of fifth and the Blue Hens added an insurance run in the eight.
