What You Need To Know
- Rider has won two straight over Monmouth and Fairfield.
- Prior to the game, Rider will honor its four-member senior class of
Stevie Jordan,
Tyere Marshall, Willy Nuñez, Jr. and
Kimar Williams on Senior Night.
- The Broncs can secure, at worst, the No. 4 seed in the MAAC Tournament with a win Wednesday. A Rider win and a Monmouth loss in either of its two remaining games would give the Broncs the No. 3 seed. Rider would clinch at least the No. 5 seed and a first-round bye with a loss by either Iona or Niagara, both of which have two games left.
- Manhattan has lost five of its last six, including an 80-60 setback Sunday at Monmouth. The lone win in the span came a game earlier against Marist.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Manhattan, 31-24, and took this season's first meeting on Jan. 26 in Riverdale. Rider has won the last five meetings with the Jaspers at Alumni Gymnasium.
- Manhattan has seven players averaging between 10.2 and 5.9 points per game, led by Tykei Greene at 10.2 ppg. Pauly Paulicap has added 10.1 ppg. and a team-high 6.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. Warren Williams has chipped in with 8.8 ppg., while Samir Stewart has averaged 8.5 points and a team-high 3.0 assists per game. Elijah Buchanan (7.9 ppg.), Christian Hinckson (6.9 ppg.) and Tyler Reynolds (5.9 ppg.) round out the group.
-
Stevie Jordan led Rider with 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a win Mar. 1 at Fairfield. He's now tied with Ryan Thompson for the program career steals lead (188) and stands eight shy of the record for most assists (598).
- Rider is the MAAC's most veteran squad, with its most-experienced combination of players accounting for 532 games played and 391 games started. Monmouth is second at 530 games played and 325 starts.
- Defending home court has been the norm in league play this season. The top nine teams in the league all have .500 or better records at home in league play for a 61-22 (.735) combined record.
- Eighth-year Head Coach
Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 140-116 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider than Baggett.
