Baseball Races Past Lafayette on Wednesday

Chris Roan hit his first homer as a Bronc in the 10-1 victory

Box Score EASTON, PA – The Rider University baseball team used a six-run outburst in the seventh inning to pull away from Lafayette en route to a 10-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at Kamine Stadium.

The Broncs (5-2) snapped a two-game losing streak against the Leopards (2-5) thanks to scoring a season-high 10 runs.

Clinging to a 4-1 lead in the top of the seventh, Chris Roan (Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) and Jack Peterson (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) delivered a pair of big hits for Rider. Roan smacked a two-run homer and Peterson laced a two-run double as Rider put the game out of reach.

On the bump, freshman Dylan Heine (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) picked up his first career win for Rider. Coming out of the bullpen, he tossed two innings and struck out two batters, while surrendering just one run.

QUOTES
