What You Need To Know
- Rider has won its last two over Canisius and Niagara. Rider came from behind to defeat Canisius, 61-60, on three Willy Nuñez, Jr. free throws with 5.9 seconds remaining on Feb. 7 before leading wire-to-wire against the Purple Eagles.
- Siena leads the all-time series, 33-18. RU won the first game of this year's series Jan. 5 in Lawrenceville. However, the Broncs haven't won at Siena since Dec. 7, 2012. As part of an unbalanced MAAC schedule, Rider did not play regular-season contests at Siena in 2017-18 or 2018-19. However, the fourth-seeded Broncs fell on the fifth-seeded Saints' home court in the 2019 MAAC Quarterfinals.
- The Saints are the last unbeaten MAAC team at home, posting a 10-0 record. Preseason MAAC Player of the Year Jalen Pickett leads Siena at 15.2 points, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while Elijah Burns has added 15.1 ppg and 6.1 rpg., shooting a MAAC-best 65.2 percent from the floor. Manny Camper has added 13.4 ppg. and 10.4 rpg., while Donald Carey also averages in double figures at 11.5 ppg.
- Rider is the MAAC's most veteran squad, with its starting five accounting for 503 games played and 364 games started.
-
Dimencio Vaughn has led Rider in scoring in nine of the last 13 games, including a season-high 28 points on 10-of-11 shooting Feb. 2 at Monmouth, leading to MAAC Player of the Week honors.
- 2.5 games currently separate 1st from 10th place in the MAAC Standings.Â
- Defending home court has been the norm in league play this season, as 10 of 11 teams have a .500 or better winning percentage at home in league play, including a 34-10 mark (.773 winning %) by the top seven teams in the standings.
- Rider is just the third NCAA Division I team in the last five years to have four 1,000-point scorers with all 1,000-points scored at a single school.
-
Stevie Jordan currently ranks second all-time in assists (571) and third in steals (179) at Rider. The Rider records are 598 assists and 188 steals.
- Eighth-year Head Coach
Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 137-113 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider than Baggett.
