Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Outlasts Marist in Overtime on Thursday

The Broncs topped the Red Foxes, 76-72.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Amanda Mobley (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh) and Stella Johnson (Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic) both recorded double-doubles to lead the Rider University women's basketball team past host Marist, 76-72, in overtime on Thursday night in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action inside McCann Arena.

The Broncs (11-2, 4-0 MAAC) won their eighth game in a row, while the Red Foxes (11-3, 4-1 MAAC) saw their six-game winning streak come to an end.

Rider held the potent Marist offensive attack scoreless for the final 90 seconds of overtime to overcome a late three-point deficit. Trailing, 72-69, with under a minute left in OT, Mobley knocked down a deep three-pointer with the shot clock expiring to tie the game.

After a stop on the next possession, senior Tracey Goodman (Lansdale, PA/Phil-Mont Christian Academy) hit a pair of free throws to give Rider the lead for good.

The defense was stout down the stretch as the Red Foxes did not make a field goal over the final four minutes of the contest.

Stella had a game-high 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Mobley picked up her first career double-double thanks to an 11-point, 10-assist performance. Lea Favre (Vevey, Switzerland/Lycee Jeanne D'Arc) was the other Bronc in double figures as she tied a career-high with 24 points.

NOTES & QUOTES
