Jake Sollon (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) shot a one-under 71 as the Broncs remained third of 14 teams following the second round at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse Monday. The Broncs (589, +13) shaved a stroke off their first-round score with a 294 and trail only Columbia (584, +8) and Lafayette (588, +12), while Sollon (72-71-143, -1) is tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard.
Sollon carded six birdies on the day, with only a triple bogey on the Par 4 16
th separating him from a potential top two standing. Conversely, an eagle on the 16
th helped
Nathan Bazant (Venetia, PA/Trinity [California (PA)]) play the back nine at -3 to card a one-over 73 on the day.
Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) stands tied for 10
th at +4 for the tournament after shooting a three-over 75 Monday, while
Connor Bekefi (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) also shot three over in the second round.

- Sollon had a team-high six birdies on his round, while Bazant had two birdies and an eagle. Bekefi and Devereux had two birdies each.
- Rider was the top-finishing MAAC program for the second-straight day. Their 294 and two-round score of 589 bested Siena (309-298-607), Saint Peter's (313-295-608) and Canisius (307-307-614).
- Rider broke 300 for the seventh time in nine rounds this season.
- After shooting under or even par four times last season, the Broncs' 2018-19 stroke average leader, Sollon, already has seven rounds at or under par in nine rounds played this season.
- Sollon's team-leading stroke average is now 71.0.

Round 3 of the three-day, three-round UConn Invitational at GreatHorse in Hampden, MA, is scheduled for Tuesday.
