Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

St. Francis (PA) defeats Men's Soccer

Pablo DeCastro had a team-high four shots for the Broncs

LORETTO, PA - Pablo DeCastro (Madrid, Spain/Universidad Francisco de Vitoria) had a team-high four shots, but the Rider University men's soccer team lost at St. Francis (PA), 4-0, on Saturday afternoon. Both teams moved to 2-3 as a result.

The Red Flash had two braces, one in each half, from Lucas Rosa and Jonathan Neil respectively. Rosa struck first in the 31st minute with a short pass in the box from Gabriel Castro. Just eleven minutes later, Rosa secured his second from a shot at the top of the box to give the Red Flash a 2-0 halftime lead.

After a 72nd minute red card on Rider created a 10-man advantage for the Red Flash, Jonathan Neil scored twice within three minutes for the final score.

Quotes and Notes
"We put ourselves in a hole today getting scores on two counterattacks. We were pressing hard to get one back and hit the post three times in the first 20 minutes. What inevitably happens is you leave yourself open to a counterattack and that's where they got us." - Rider Head Coach Charlie Inverso

- With the loss, Rider's lead in the all-time series is now 4-3-0.
- Rider used a season-high 19 players today. Their previous peak was 16 against Princeton on September 11.
- The Broncs return to action on Tuesday, September 24, when they travel to take on Stony Brook at 7 pm.

Broncs By The Numbers
- Pablo Gatinois (Madrid, Spain/Lycee Francais De Madrid) had three saves in the loss.
- The Broncs took a 14-11 advantage in shots, but the Red Flash had a 7-2 lead in shots on target.
- St. Francis (PA) took six corners to Rider's four.
