NOTES & QUOTES
"Yesterday I challenged the team that we really needed some people to step up big time to have a chance to win the meet, and Ashley responded to that today. It is always an incredible moment when you can win an event on your last attempt, and she had that moment today."
– Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer
"I was really happy for Peri today in the steeple to finish second. The last time she raced the steeple, it was a disappointing outcome. We had discussed a few things that we could fix to hopefully improve her performance next time, and I was really proud of her ability to fight and show some grit over the last two laps to secure second."
– Hamer
"We had a decent day with a few outstanding performances, but unfortunately we did leave some points out there today. We knew coming in that we would be down after Day 1 and it was just a matter of getting a lot of track finalists into Day 2, which we did a great job of today. Now it is on to tomorrow and we need to chip away at their lead event by event and hopefully when we get to the end of the meet, we have a chance to win."
